Your teacher is most likely asking you to think deeply about the entire ordeal of the salmon as it makes its way upstream,traveling for long distances, facing challenges, dangers, and then once reaching the promised place....they die. People and their lives are a lot like that.....often they fight upstream, leaping into the arms of danger, travel untold distances mentally, physically, and emotionally, and then, when they've realized their greatest desires....they die.
