Mrs. Joyce is different than other teachers because she is in it for the long haul. She is "practical, tough, and determined". Rather than leave Franklin and work in another school, she felt that Franklin High deserved good teachers, and that its students were worth her time. She wanted her classroom to be a special, and she wanted her students to have the best.
