why did antigone defied creon order and why she should not be punished for her actions

she defied Creon because she felt the burial of her brother was a just and righteous act,a nd not doing so would be treason against the gods. she would rather die knowing she followed the gods commands and receive glory after death than die not following the gods and die without glory. the second part of the question is more of an opinion and restatement of the above

She argues that the laws of the gods supercede the laws of kings and mankind. Therefore, she argues that she should not be punished for following the dictates of the gods in burying her brother.
