In Chapter One, the figurehead of the Seahawk reminded Charlotte of an avenging angel. How did its appearance in Chapter 21 support this interpretation?

The figurehead's wings were spread against the bow, its head thrust forward, its tongue, protruding, as if it were screaming.... like an avenging angel.
