What experience in the French Indian War made Benjamin want to avoid the Revolutionary War?

Benjamin Martin was involved in the massacre at Fort Wilderness during the French/ Indian War, after finding his comrades slaughtered at Fort Ambercom. After this experience, Martin wished for nothing more than peace.
