Holston

This character is the protagonist of Wool. He is the sheriff of Silo 18 in the beginning of the novel, and loses this title once he’s been condemned as a cleaner.

Allison

This character is the deceased wife of the protagonist. She appears in flashbacks from three years prior, when she discovered information that led to her exile and death.

Mayor Jahns

This character in the story is the elected leader of Silo 18. She visits the protagonist in the holding cell, where she attempts to offer him his last meal and to convince him to fulfill his duties as a cleaner.

Deputy Marnes

This character is the assistant to the protagonist in the beginning of the novel. He meets the protagonist at the top of the stairs in Chapter 1 and locks him in the holding cell, at the protagonist’s request.
