Letter to the Children

The children are abandoned by their father and stepmother and left to fend for themselves in the dead of winter, in the middle of a war, in the forests of Poland. Imagine you are the stepmother and you had the chance to explain yourself to the children. Write a letter to the children explaining why you insisted they were left to find their own way.

Journey Map

The children started out in a home, but the family was moved to a Ghetto, a large boarding house where many Jews were sent to live when their own possessions were claimed by the Germans. The children then journeyed from the Ghetto, to the cabin in the woods and Magda, and back to the city where the Ghetto was located. Create a map of their travels. Include visuals.
