Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

Will Parry - This character is only ten years old and takes care of his mentally ill mother and tries to stay hidden and anonymous so that he will not draw any attention to his family and risk his mother being institutionalized. This character will become the bearer of the subtle knife.

Lyra Silvertongue - This character is in possession of a magical instrument; the alethiometer. This character has a natural ability to read the images of this device which always tells the truth.
