The 20 enjoyable, interactive classroom activities that are included will help your students understand the text in amusing ways. Fun Classroom Activities include group projects, games, critical thinking activities, brainstorming sessions, writing poems, drawing or sketching, and more that will allow your students to interact with each other, be creative, and ultimately grasp key concepts from the text by "doing" rather than simply studying.

1. Satire

Research modern day satires and compare/contrast their style to the style that Juvenal is using in his Satires. What is the same about the styles? What is different? Is there anything unexpected/surprising in that comparison? Write a short report on your findings.

2. Money Conversion

Come to class with an explanation of the conversion of dollars to Roman silver coins. If you were to convert the prices of commonplace items from coins to dollars, what might things cost in Rome?
