Objective

Chapter One

Yun was born in a farming village, where people live in poverty, but have peaceful lives. However, Christianity was not tolerated by the government, and common people witness terrible atrocities committed towards Christians. This lesson will discuss the intolerance by the State to let people worship as they wish.

Lesson

1) Class Discussion: Brother Yun described some pretty horrible things committed by the State towards Christians. Why was this? Do you think Christianity was singled out from all religions for persecution? Would a practicing Muslim receive the same treatment?

2) Partner Activity: Select a partner and review Brother Yun's mother's background with Christianity. How do you think she felt as she saw cruelty towards Christians? Do you think she felt a certain amount of guilt? Share your answers with another partner team.

3) Individual Activity: In a personal journal, write an entry which addresses the following question...
