Character Descriptions

Characters

Santiago - The central character of this story, this man's long, difficult journey represents each person's journey through life. This character reflects, "I'm like everyone else - I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does".

The Alchemist - This powerful and mysterious character, who remains nameless, enters the story almost half way through and is rumored to be more than 200 years old. The emphasis remains focused on what this character does, rather than who he is.
