In Tevye Loses a Small Fortune, Tevye and his wife Golde spend time debating what they are going to spend their unexpected fortune on and they come up with all sorts of ideas. Students should write a creative essay describing what they would spend their reward on if they were unexpectedly to receive a fortune like Tevye did.
Students create a sketch, painting, or even sculpture of one of Tevye's animals described in the book.
Students should select one short story from the Railroad Stories section and come up with their own adaptation of a play based on that story and perform it for the class.
