Objective

Lee moves from the city back to his small town.

The aim of this lesson is to to look at city life.

Lesson

1) With the students, discuss how city life has affected Lee's mindset. Does he now look down on people in his town? In what ways has city life changed him? Ask the students to individually write a monologue of Lee's thoughts when he first arrives in his home town. Finish the lesson by asking the students how they think he will cope with being back in Oregon.

2) Divide the students into pairs and ask them to develop a three-minute presentation about what they think Lee's life is like in the big city. Does he have more money? Does he have more interests? Does he now look down on people from small towns? Look at the presentations before discussing how Lee will change now that...
