Object Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Objects
The Old Frenchman Place - This is a Mississippi plantation owned by Lee Goodwin.
Memphis - This is the city nearest to the Old Frenchman Place.
Spring - This is a common meeting place for the people at Old Frenchman Place and is the only site for water.
Kinston - This is where Horace Benbow lives and works as an attorney.
Jefferson - This is a rural town not far from Memphis and the former home of Horace Benbow.
The Philippines - This is where Goodwin served as a sergeant in the Cavalry.
