Joseph Rudyard Kipling was an English poet and also wrote short stories and novels. Kipling was born in Bombay and went to England at the age of five. Kipling became one of the most well known writers in England in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. Kipling was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. The objective of this lesson is to learn about the background of the author, Joseph Rudyard Kipling.
