Kipling became one of the most well known writers in England in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. Kipling was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. The objective of this lesson is to learn about the background of the author, Joseph Rudyard Kipling.

a) Biography: Students should find information on the background of the author, Joseph Rudyard Kipling and write a summary of the information found, including his childhood, education, and career. The biography should be 2-3 paragraphs.
