Create a Web Page

Students should take time to create a web page which details Mamet's methods and techniques in directing film. Students may choose to add a filmography section, and question and answer section regarding Mamet's approach.

Cinema versus Stage

In discussing the different qualities of the theater versus the cinema, present students the opportunity to see two adaptations of a show--in Shakespeare there are many--in which they watch a film version and a stage version and discuss the difference between them.

Film Review

Students should watch at least one--preferably more--films by the author and write a review based upon the elements of production discussed in the book.

Find an Example of Storyboard

Students should research online to find a copy of a storyboard which shows shots for a film which has been produced. Students should present this to the class, and detail how the storyboard translates...
