Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
André Breton - This French poet, surrealist theorist, and author of Mad Love is generally considered to be the founder of Surrealism and is its primary theorist.
Jacqueline Lamba - This French artist was the author's second wife and the mother of his daughter.
Man Ray - The photography of this American-born avant-garde artist appears in Mad Love and is used to illustrate some of the thoughts the author attempts to explain.
