Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. Terremoto - The name of this location near Rome means "earthquake," and this is where Joan flees following her fake death.

Costume gothics - This is the name for romantic tales set in specific historical periods that Joan writes under a pen name.

Fotoromanzo - This is the name for a form of Italian literature that consist of romantic images with cartoon-like balloons over the characters' heads.
