1) Class Discussion: Describe Gandhi's funeral.

Class Discussion: Discuss the small groups' responses.

Individual Activity: Research Hindu funeral rituals. What is the purpose of the pyre being set on fire? How do these rituals compare to American rituals?

Class Discussion: Discuss funeral rituals researched during the individual activity.

Homework: How is Gandhi unique for a world leader? How does he compare to the Western idea of a leader?
