Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Albert Camus - This character was a famous French writer and philosopher who was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1957, and greatly influenced the author's writing.
Simone del Duca - The author refused a luncheon with this character and was at the center of the emotional breakdown while the writer is in Paris.
Francoise Gallimard - This person is the author's publisher in France who the author makes a luncheon date with instead of appearing at a luncheon in his honor.
Romain Gary - This character was a Russian Jewish writer...
