Draw a Setting
Have students recreate one of the settings described in Dagon and Other Macabre Tales. Students may choose to do a drawing, model, painting, etc.
Ask students to look in their local newspaper for an article that involves some aspect of the stories and bring it to class. They will present it in front of the class and explain why it relates to the stories.
Draw a Character
Have students draw their interpretation of a character from the stories. Artistic ability is not important, but their drawings must reflect the type of costume worn by the character, whether the character is fat or thin, bald, prim or slovenly. What colors do the characters wear?
Have students research the foods eaten in one or several of the stories. With parents' permission, students may arrange for a potluck of different dishes from the narratives.
