Poem

This object symbolizes trust. When the unnamed narrator agrees to meet with his student named G. in the section entitled "Mentor," G. slides this object across the table to his teacher. He states that while the unnamed narrator had written many comments on the poem, he had not noticed the glaringly incorrect pronouns used throughout the love poem. With this explanation, G. comes out to the unnamed narrator, demonstrating the degree of trust he has in his literature teacher.
