Your Heaven

Tony Kushner envisions heaven as San Fransisco after the Great Earthquake of 1908. This serves his particular vision of the state of the spiritual realm in the 1980s. Beginning with your impression of the present spiritual landscape, choose a specific earthly location as your conception of heaven. Print off a picture of this area and use paint to alter it into an otherworldly form.

Part 2 of Angels in America begins with the worlds oldest living Bolshevik extolling young Soviets for their abandonment of theory. Choose a figure that could represent an abandoned past in America (Abby Hoffman, Peggy Noonan), and write a speech in his or her voice in the style of Kushner's.
