Object Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Objects
Ghana - This place is a republic in West Africa.
Cairo, Egypt - This place is where Ms. Angelou lived, where she suffered a divorce, and where she visited old friends and sang for the president of Liberia.
Keta - This place is the village that Ms. Angelou visited where she was mistaken for a relative of some of the villagers.
Ewe - This is a dialect spoken by villagers.
Fanti - This is one of the many tribal languages spoken in Africa and one that Ms. Angelou learned to speak.
