After the success of The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day had the funds to create amazing special effects. Using computer technology and special costumes, both the Terminator and the T-1000 look completely realistic. When the T-1000 becomes a machine rather than taking the disguise of a person, the effects are especially impressive. The Terminator seems less impressive with the invention of the T-1000, but both seem fairly realistic.
