Strange Things Happen

Throughout the movie, we see that strange things happen all the time. When we consider life from a normal viewpoint, we often fail to notice the strange things that happen. Alternatively, we see the strange things, and admit to ourselves that had those things happened in a movie, we would never have believed they were true. How is it that one event can change the course of entire lives or connect people who otherwise would never have been connected?

Magnolia explores how all the strange things that happen connect at some point, in some way. Even if we would not believe the events in a movie, they happen in real life all the time. In the past century, three deaths occurred by coincidence, and on this night, many more happen in the same way. Coincidence brings all the people in the film together for a moment...
