The State of Germany Post-World War I

Summary:   How the Treaty of Versailles led to massive problems for post-World War I Germany.


The Germans realised that they were fighting a battle they had already lost, the First World War ended on 11th November 1918. The fate of Germany was left in the hands of France, Britain and the USA; each had different ideas on how Germany should be treated. The Treaty of Versailles was created on the 28th June 1919, its purpose was to punish Germany severely for 'their' wrong doings. This treaty left Germany in worse political, social and economic position than it already was. I will assess the state of Germany after World War I by using three main categories: political, social and economic.

Politically, Germany was extremely unstable. The Allies would give Germany peace only if their was democracy, the Kaiser wasn't happy about this, he believed in the divine right of Kings, he had.....
