Everyday in the news one can read about the growing tension between North Korea and the rest of the world. The country is led by a lunatic who wields knowledge of nuclear weapons and no one knows how things are going to end up. People may ask themselves how a nation turns out like this. This question can be answered by researching the history of North Korea.

The origin of this mess starts in the Cold War when it joined the wrong side of the battle for power. North Korea was originally communist because it was occupied by Soviet troops just after the Potsdam Declaration. The Soviets supported Kim Il Sung to make sure a communist government would be set up. When both Koreas disputed who was the rightful ruler of the peninsula several small battles.....
