There are many different things that occurred during World War 1 that affected Canada in a number of ways. Things like the political measures with the War Measures Act and the Wartime Election Act, Conscription with the Military Service Bill and the economy changing over a period of time. All these factors contributed to how World War 1 had an affect on Canada.
Conscription means that all able-bodied men would be required to join the army, they would have no choice and the enlistment would no longer be on a voluntary basis only.
