World War I Journal Entry

Summary:   It is a journal entry as written by a nurse during World War I.


September 20, 1917

It's late and I'm exhausted because I've been up on my feet running around all day treating patients. But I want to record everything that has been occurring for these past months. It's heartbreaking to see all the soldiers in pain. It gives me quite a lump in my throat to see them. They are all extremely brave to have come miles away from home, leaving loved ones, to fight for their country. There is so much that the soldiers do. I've been paying close attention to everything that is going on and I have been talking to several of my patients who are such courageous soldiers.
