The Fourteenth Goldfish Overview

The Fourteenth Goldfish is the story of 11-year-old Ellie Cruz and her 76-year-old grandfather, Melvin, who is a 13-year-old teenager thoughout the novel thanks to his discovery of an age-reversing formula. The story starts when Melvin comes to live with Ellie and her divorced mother after trying to get into his laboratory and being taken into custody for trespassing, as no one recogonizes him now that he's 13. Through Melvin's adventures and his love of science, Ellie (who dislikes change) learns to make new friends, finds her passion, and begins to view her family under a different lens.
