Rich People Problems Overview

Rich People Problems is the third book in Kevin Kwan's fiction series about the lives of an ultra-rich Asian family dynasty. In the novel, the members of the Young family gather at Tyersall Park as their matriarch, Shang Su Yi is on her deathbed after a massive heart attack. When her will is read, it is discovered that Su Yi has divided the ancestral estate among her children and two of her grandchildren. While most of the family wants to sell the home and reap the benefits of the sale, Nick Young, Su Yi’s favorite grandson, struggles to find a way to save his ancestral home. The novel explores the themes of jealousy, materialism, generational and cultural differences, and identity.
