Percy is a troubled kid who has attended six schools in six years. The discovery that his father is a god and the disappearance of his mother, lead Percy on a quest to find himself, as well as find the bolt of Zeus and the helm of Hades that have been stolen. Percy and two companions are chased across the United States as they attempt to retrieve the stolen items. Along the way they face life and death situations and encounters with gods and mythological creatures who are trying to kill them.
