What did Bartle and Murph do when a female medic was killed at the end of Chapter 8?

Incoming mortar killed a female medic that Murph had been watching. When Bartle noticed that the girl had died, he and another soldier laid her on some boards. Bartle asked Murph to help them carry her down to the medic station. However Murph was curled up helplessly in the ruins muttering over and over to himself, "What just happened?" (172). Bartle and the other soldier carried the girl's body to the medic station.
