Murph showed Bartle a Polaroid of him and his girl. Bartle described the picture. He said they stood in front of a mountain that was covered in beech, magnolia, white ash, maple, tulip trees, and flowers. Murph's girl wore a blue dress. Her hair was brown and stringy. She did not smile. Murph stood next to her. He had his hands in the pockets of his blue jeans. He had an easy half-smile on his face.
