What does Deedee reveal about her past in Chapter 18?

Trina, against Alec’s advice, approaches the little girl, who says her name is Deedee. She says her parents are dead, and her brother, Ricky, is in the woods. She says that lots of people were hit with arrows from the sky. The other villagers have left the girl to die.
