“Bitch Moon” is a free-verse horror poem by American speculative author Sarah Grey. It first appeared in Nightmare Magazine in 2022. The poet prefaces the work by explaining that she grew up in a community like the one presented in the poem, and wondered what would happen if women like herself and others in that community “grew teeth.” The poem uses lycanthropy and a pack mentality as a metaphor for the power of women in solidarity, and follows a group of women who enact revenge on a dangerous male.
