Italian physicist known for his contributions in particle physics, especially his discovery of the Z0 particle, for which he was awarded the 1984 Noble Prize in Physics. Rubbia was initially turned down for admission at a college for physics in Italy, and was later granted admission only because another student resigned. He has spent his entire professional life exploring the realm of high energy physics, providing crucial insights into the nature of matter.
