Summary: There were obviously a lot of important reformers that helped shape this nation. There were many reformers that were smart and got their voices heard and their thoughts and efforts helped turn America in to a free and powerful nation.
Reformers

There are many reforms during this time period, because America was starting over from scratch as a country. Many people wanted America to help them like women wanted to vote and men wanted what would benefit them weather they were farmers or wealthy land owners. Some of the reforming topics were the mentally ill, abolitionist, women's rights, and school. Some important reformers were Dorothea Dix, William Lloyd Garrison, Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Horace Mann, Elizabeth Stanton.

The most famous reformers are Dorothea Dix and Susan B. Anthony. Dorothea Dix helped the mentally ill, she went to a prison and saw mentally ill in the jail and she knew that it was wrong to put the mentally ill in with the evil people in jail.
