The rise of Irish nationalism has motivated Irish playwrights to show their Celtic inheritance and define their country's political and social chaos.

Whenever the word Ireland is mentioned people automatically, think of it stereotypically. The country of leprechauns, shamrocks, and pots of gold. Ireland now days is an independent country. However, it took so many years of conflict between Britain and Ireland for this to happen. The role of the Christian influence over the nation was used to strengthen British/English rule over Ireland.
