Persuasive Essay: Emergency Contraception vs. Mifepristone

At least once in her life, nearly every woman is faced with a pregnancy scare, days spent waiting on her period after a condom breaks or she forgets her pill. In 2003 nearly two hundred thousand women were the victims of rape. For these woman, making the choice about protecting her reproductive health is indeed a difficult one. This essay is an argument as to why emergency contraception is a more ethical and affordable (not to mention less physically damaging) option when compared to the "abortion pill", RU-486 or Mifepristone.

Both E.C. and Mifepristone are taken in Pill form, and administered in two doses, approximately twelve hours apart.
