Assimilation is a series of challenges and opportunities that people go through to change to a different environment. In history and literature there are three factors that force you to go through assimilation; they are society, family and your peers/ friends.

When moving to a different society people must assimilate because of the new ways and cultures of that new society. When foreigners come from different countries they have to assimilate to our culture because they are not used to the ways of our society.
