Music technology has created an almost infinite number of possibilities for musicians to express themselves creatively through their music. It allows people to make music with simplicity that was previously impossble. It has impacted the types of music that hear around us everyday. Without music technology, many people would not be able to listen to the types of music that they enjoy most.

Electronic music originated in the early twentieth century when Edison's phonograph was electrified. Since that time, music was not the same. Around that time, Thaddeus Cahill invented the telharmonium, which is a machine that used electrical current to produce sound. Even though it was considered impractical, it proved to the world something never heard before- that electricity could be used to create sound.
