Is American Culture Important?
Summary: The United States provides the biggest impact on culture all over the world. American culture impacts and shadows other cultures worldwide through television, movies, sports, and international events. While leaders in other countries express concern that global culture may become too Americanized, the fact is that their own countries spread American culture as much as Americans do.
What do you see when you turn on the television in a foreign country, or go out and watch a movie? If you guessed American culture, you're right. The U.S has the biggest impact on culture all over the world. There dominance on the rest of the world through television, movies, sports, and international events affect's and shadows other cultures all over the world. There dominance on other cultures is a positive and should be encouraged, even though many people disagree.
One of the biggest influences by the US on other cultures is through the media. I personally believe that the biggest impact is from the numerous American TV shows that take centre stage on television.
