Early Africa and Early South Asia

Summary: Early Africa and Early South Asia societies were alike and different in many ways. Both societies relied on bodies of water, were polytheistic, and had distinct social classes. They were different in the manner of government organization and things that they traded.

Early ancient societies were all similar in one way. They were trying to survive and prosper in their environment. The differences arise in the way that they accomplished their goals. Two early societies that are similar in many ways but differ in others are the Early African Societies and Early South Asia. The people of those early societies were alike and diverse in their geography, religious beliefs, intellectual achievements, politics, economics and social structure.

Early Africa and Early South Asia's geography had many comparable and contrasting characteristics. Both societies were located next to rivers that were central to life. Egypt was located near the Nile River. The river flooded yearly and was predictable and expected. This occurrence allowed the Egyptians to develop an accurate calendar based on the floods and astrological signs. The river was also crucial because it deposited dead animals and plants that served as fertilizer...
