Summary: An investigation to show how the concentration of a solution affects the rate of a reaction, testing eight different concentrations of sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid. It tests the hypothesis that the rate of the reaction will increase in direct proportion to the amount of concentration; the number of particles in the solution will increase with the increase in concentration, therefore raising the probability of particles colliding and reacting.

Introduction

The aim of this investigation is to show how the concentration of a solution will affect the rate of a reaction. This will be proved by testing eight different concentrations; each being tested three times. The theory will be proved by the speed of which the reaction takes place and drawing a conclusion on whether an increased concentration, increases a reaction.

From preliminary experiments and personal investigation there are a number of variables that were possible to choose before coming to my chose one. The other possible variables are:
