Factors Affecting People's Health in the UK

Summary: The main factors currently affecting people's health in the United Kingdom include smoking, bad diets, alcohol, and lack of exercise. While the British government has worked to reduce the influence of these factors, only the people themselves can put an end to them by changing their attitudes toward health.
Within the United Kingdom there are many factors which are affecting the health of the nation. It has long been said that the Government has to put a stop to this, but in all realism the change really can come from the people of the UK. Perhaps it has to be an all round change but there are still many factors to be eliminated.

One of these factors is smoking, people who smoke are more likely to die younger, developing a higher chance of getting smoking related illnesses such as lung cancer. More women die in Glasgow and Liverpool than anywhere else in the UK because of smoking. Also studies have found that there are more young people than ever before smoking, especially girls, a survey in 1990 showed that 12% of boys, and 11% of girls age 15 smoked, the same survey in 1998 showed that 19% of boys an 24% of girls age...
