Babesia

Summary: Babesia and it is a diseases that animals get, mostly dogs, when a tick bites a animal and then it infects its red blood cells. This disease affects some humans also, but is mostly spread to racing greyhounds and pit bulls. There is more than 100 different kinds of the Babesia disease but it is most common in the USA. Babesia goes to the red blood cells and infects them. What happens after that is then the cells start to divide and burst after it synthesizes with the DNA and then it goes and effects new red blood cells. This disease is very harmful to the animal or person. Its symptoms are weakness, jaundice, fever, loss of appetite, muscle aches, chills, and red or orange colored urine.
My topic is Babesia and it is a diseases that animals get, mostly dogs, when a tick bites a animal and then it infects its red blood cells. This disease affects some humans also, but is mostly spread to racing greyhounds and pit bulls. There is more than 100 different kinds of the Babesia disease but it is most common in the USA through only a couple different types. The most common one is called Babesia canis, and the other one is called Babesia gibsoni which is a smaller one, but studies have shown that this disease in particular has really only gone after the Pit Bull Terries.
