Summary: An essay concerning the Chinese occupation and exploitation of Tibet. First discusses the People's Republic of China's reasons and excuses for invading the area and then rebutal against these reasons in favor of Tibet.
The People's Republic of China's annexation of Tibet was reinforced with faulty excuses, so has no right to be there. The PRC claimed to want to liberate Tibet from medieval feudal serfdom and slavery (Traditional). China's reasons for wanting the nation, like available land & resources, a better trade route, and for defense were entirely greedy (Holsinger). China has brought living conditions down in Tibet, and is also destroying the region's environment. After China's invasion of Tibet in 1950, Tibetan negotiators were forced to sign the "17 Point Agreement for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet" by threat of physical violence and military force on their country. This goes in violation of the international Law of Treaties in the Vienna Conventions. Even Mao Zedong said that the PRC had no base for implementing the treaty (Invasion).
