A Man of Impact

Summary: While I was beginning adolescence and learning to think for myself, Rus Willette was there to offer support and help me develop into a man of strong character. He continues to be one of my primary mentors and supports me to this day.He entered my life during a transitional period became a close friend and mentor.
During the most important time of my growth and development there was a man who had a large influence on my life. This man was a coach of mine and also a leader in my youth group. While I was beginning adolescence and learning to think for myself, Rus Willette was there to offer support and help me develop into a man of strong character. He continues to be one of my primary mentors and supports me to this day.

In the fall of my seventh grade year, my family moved from the small rural town of Alfred, Maine to Maine's largest city Portland. At that time sports were my focus and love. I would spend much of me free-time practicing baseball or basketball. However, when we moved to Portland the coaches I played for were neither encouraging nor fun.
